Seafood, Sea Birds & See Birds at Bangpu (2)

After our lovely sea food lunch, is time to really explore this little well hidden secret birding place! The weather is just too hot to watch the terns & gulls at the jetty (very sunny day & without shelter on the jetty), I head to the hide/watch tower to see the shore birds instead.

Once inside the hide, the scenery was one of the most beautiful place I ever visit.
Black-capped Kingfisher (Halcyon pileata)
Being one of the most skittish kingfisher, this Black-capped Kingfisher was spotted at the far right of the hide. My new Lumix FZ70 that come with 60X zoom was put to good use.
Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus)
The unmistakable beauty with long leg... Black Winged Stilt.

Great Egret (Ardea alba)

Javan Pond Heron (Ardeola speciosa)
One of the most common pond heron in Thailand - Javan Pond Heron.
Common Redshank (Tringa totanus)
Another Common Red Shank, not joining the main flock & feeding alone.
Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilus)
Another lonely Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilus).
Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa)
Black-tailed Godwit with long & straight bill.

Is such a nice experience to watch them from the comfort under the shade in the hide. I stay in the shade until about 4pm before I make my way to jetty for the terns & gulls... (to be continued)
