The Thief

With the wet season almost over, some birds has started their breeding preparation!! This Black-Naped Oriole(Oriolus chinensis) is certainly one of them. I saw this oriole keep going back to the same branch a few times. Not that there are insects nor fruiting on that tree but to steal the material needed for their nest building!



The oriole will use the bill to purposely got themselves entangled with the spider web, then try to 'hoover' (short flight and back to the same branch) and try to grab as much web as possible before flew off. Within 30 minutes while I was there, the birds repeated the process for 4 times!
